A key driving force of the company
is product extensions and Birkmayer
USA is developing a number of products based on patented
formulations/delivery systems of ENADA. With the introduction
of a quick-acting form of NADH called Co-E1® NADH , Birkmayer USA launches a clinically
proven countermeasure for jet lag.
In addition to product extensions, Birkmayer
USA places a great emphasis and substantial
investment in research collaboration and clinical
trails at some of the world's leading medical institutions.
Georgetown University Medical Center was the site
of two Menuco ( former NY company of Prof. Birkmayer
Health Products) studies of ENADA for Chronic Fatigue
Syndrome and Alzheimer's disease. Results of the CFS
study is published in the February 1999 issue of Annals
of Allergy, Asthma & Immunology and the Alzheimer's
study is projected for publication in a peer-reviewed
medical journal by mid-2001. The studies follow rigorous
FDA-approved testing procedures utilizing double-blind
placebo controlled crossover human clinical studies
considered as the "gold standard" by medical
researchers. ENADAlert has also been the subject of
medical clinical study. A double-blind placebo controlled
study was conducted on subjects who took a "red
eye" flight from San Diego, CA to Washington,
DC (a flight spanning four time zones). ENADAlert
proved to significantly relieve the effects of jet
lag. The study results confirmed that ENADAlert helped
reduce drowsiness and restored mental alertness. It
also boosts stamina, endurance and energy without
the use of stimulants. Further ENADAlert was found
to have no side effects and is easy to take. Additionally,
at the world renowned Sleep-Wake Disorders Center,
Weill Cornell Behavioral Health at New York-Presbyterian
Hospital is currently conducting a double-blind placebo
controlled study to determine if ENADAlert will promote
alertness and concentration in healthy individuals
who are sleep deprived. Study results are expected
by 1st Quarter, 2001.
